You know those days when you wake up feeling just okay? Not great. Not terrible. Just okay. When someone asks you how you’re doing, your face cracks into a pleasant smile before responding, “Fine.”
I have a secret. God doesn’t want you to go through the day feeling just okay. He wants to wow you into having an amazing day, so you can turn around and make it a great day for someone else.
You know how He wants to do that? By shaking you until you realize how much He loves you.
He’s not going to rush into your bedroom each morning and physically wrap you in a big bear hug and bounce you up and down. I don’t know about you, but that would scare the bejeepers out of me.
God’s going to shake you mentally by showing you all the ways He loves you. But the key is, you have to play along. You have to be willing to live loved.
You have to see the sunrise and know that God made that just for you, so you’d have light in your day.
You have to look at the spectacular cloud formations in the sky and know that God wanted you to have a reason to keep your chin up.
You have to see the circumstances in your life that are tearing you apart and know that God is standing right beside you giving you strength you didn’t know you had.
When you walk through your day looking for evidence of how much God loves you, you’ll no longer be just okay. You’ll be filled with joy and renewed in your efforts to do life well, because you’ll know you are loved well.
And then you’ll be equipped to love others well. The good, the bad and the ugly.
So come on, isn’t today the perfect day to live loved?
