Be a Follower


I grew up being told, “Believe in yourself” and “Don’t be a follower.” I wasn’t supposed to jump off the bridge when all the other cool kids did, I was supposed to use good judgement and think for myself.

When it comes to Jesus, the rules of the world are flipped. We are not to believe in ourselves, but in the One who made us. And yes, we are supposed to be followers.

“We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, ‘I know him,’ but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.” 1 John 2:3-4
