I’m about to go dark on you. Not dark as in a trench coat, heavy boots and lots of black eye liner. I’m about to say goodbye.
Okay, that was a touch overly dramatic of me. Let me try again. I’m going to dedicate this summer to writing a book that will be released by Baker Publishing in 2020. I’m going to dedicate this summer to helping my kids get settled into a new community. I’m going to dedicate this summer to loving my husband well through this time of transition.
In short, I’m going to say no to what’s good so I can say yes to what’s best. The Kindness Podcast is on hiatus until September, but I’m still writing the Kindness is Contagious column each Friday, so I hope you’ll check it out. It’s a great reminder of all the good happening in our world.
The moving truck comes on Thursday. We are putting everything in storage until we figure out what comes next. In the meantime, we are going to spend a week at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA, because when in doubt, roller coaster.
The Phillips Family adventure will continue after that, somewhere. We’re still working out the details. Bah, details! Who needs ‘em?
If this summer is showing up with its own uncertainties in your life, I’d like to remind you of something I read this morning. It’s bringing me a lot of peace and I hope it does the same for you.
“Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans … That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” Romans 8:26-28 (MSG)
God bless you my friends. Thank you for loving us so well. See ya real soon.
