It’s the scariest thing I’ve ever done. And it’s happening in 45 American minutes.
I am meeting with a woman who is going to unscrew the top of my head and peek inside. (I mean that figuratively, not literally, thank you Jesus.)
I am going to a psychological evaluation.
It’s part of the process to become a pastor. Did I mention I’m starting four years of seminary studies in the Fall?
Yep. Before they let me build a bridge of ministry to others, they want to make sure I have tools and a shed (even if I’m not the sharpest tool in that shed).
I feel like I should just save them the time and tell them I don’t.
I laugh at jokes nobody else thinks are funny.
I always get stuck on my 8s in the multiplication table.
I don’t really care about some of the issues the rest of the world cares about.
But here’s the thing: Jesus loves me just like this. And I’m pretty sure He’s the one offering me the job.
Guess what? Even without looking inside your brain, I can tell you two truths that might just turn your day around.
- Jesus loves you just like this.
- He’s got a job waiting for you when you’re ready.
Isn’t that freeing? Those two truths mean all those hidden things in your mind don’t matter. You have all the tools you need, even if it looks like someone else has more. No one can pull the rug out from under you, because Jesus will always catch you and remind you of your purpose.
Never mind what someone else says about your brain or your body or your ability.
Jesus loves you just like this – and He can’t wait to go to work with you!
Wondering how to make that happen? Start each day praying, “Lord, make me a vessel for you,” and watch what happens. It’ll blow your mind.
