For Cancer Communities & Survivorship
I have sat in the chair.
I know what it is to hear the words, to count down treatments, to figure out who you are on the other side of it. If you're planning an event for survivors, patients, caregivers, or the people who walk beside them, I'd be honored to be considered.

My story, briefly
Diagnosed on my 40th birthday.
I've counted down the treatments, worn the gowns, and learned what "two things can be true" really means: you can feel the pain without feeding the panic. Later, I spent two years as a hospital chaplain, sitting with patients and families on their hardest days.
These rooms are not a speaking niche for me. They're personal.
The sESSION
What I bring to these rooms
I am not speaking about something. I am speaking from inside it.
When I speak to survivors, patients, caregivers, and the people who walk beside them, I will not dress up the fear or skip past the grief, and I also will not leave a room sitting in it. There is room for the hard thing and the hope, often in the same breath.
Your audience leaves with:
The comfort of being understood by someone who has been there
Honest language for the parts nobody talks about
A renewed sense that joy is still theirs to claim

The book
Borrow My Brave
A Breast Cancer Survivor Bares All · written with Ann Fredricks
The book I wish someone had handed me in the waiting room. Honest about the fear, the indignities, and the strange gifts of the whole experience, with enough laughter to make the hard pages readable. Many survivorship groups read it together before or after an event.

If this is your room, let's talk.
Survivorship celebrations, walks, retreats, support communities, caregiver events. Tell me about your people and what this season has held for them, and we'll shape something that fits.
